Hello Guys

Doing a computer build. Did not realise that my old CD rom drive and HD were IDE.

I have a Asrock Z68 pro 3 m and am trying to figure how to install Windows without the CD. (no IDE)

I have taken apart my segate 1gb external drive to use internally with the new MB as it is Sata. I have read various ways but none seem to be relevent or work for me.

I have a copy of windows on the drive but when trying to boot so the instal starts I get a missing NDTLR.

I do not have a USB drive, just verios external drives.

Thanks

Not sure, I've never used PowerISO. The microsoft tool is official and was built to copy windows files from a windows 7 install disc or iso file (one from msdn etc) to USB and make it bootable.

If PowerISO can do that then sure give it a try.

Hey got it sorted, just ended up making the HD bootable by putting boot info on the HD via ms dos. Installing W7 now. Many Thanks

Edit

Wow core i5 2500k is fast, only 5 mins in and almost done!!!
