Hello all,
I need some advice please:
I just received today my new MB ROG Strix z490-e
And I want to install one nvme XPG Gammix S50 Lite.
When install it in the first slot and putting back on the MB M.2 heat sink looks like the nvme is just a bit pushed down. Is this normal?
I have the impression that will make a slight very very slight "smile".
Thanks you and regards,
This is my first PC in the last 8 years and I am building it with my youngest.

On my rog strix b550-f there was a rubber pad to put on the existing pad on the motherboard for one sided nvme cards (I missed it the first time and had the same issue). Should be in a little bag with screws.

I would leave the mb heatsink off. The are mostly for show anyway and at the speed and capacity will have virtually no real world difference. (studies on my sn750 shows no performance or real heat difference)

Thanks! I can try to run the PC without the MB heatsink. Is the temp. From the NVME be reported in the OS ? I will install win 10 pro.

Usually motherboards come with a tiny plastic packet that contains a standoff/spacer and screw. You can use these to fix the drive in place without the motherboard heatsink.

Download the software for the nvme from the manufacturer's website, it should hopefully show details like operating temperatures and the expected remaining life of the ssd as you use it over time
