My eufy battery doorbell is having issues so I’m thinking of going for a reolink poe doorbell.

Assuming I can’t drill through it, should I use armoured Ethernet cable or work on the assumption that I’m not storing the Crown Jewels and that normal cable will be ok?

You can drill through a UPVC frame fine, there might be steel reinforcement inside so have a suitable drill bit, and then seal it up, obviously don't drill anywhere near the glass section if it has any.
If you go for just a cable externally just use something that has UV protective coating otherwise it will discolour and go brittle eventually.

Why not the wireless version?

I have the WiFi ReoLink doorbell, as long as you have power (I use the existing bell wire and transformer) WiFi will work fine. If WiFi is not good enough the same doorbell has POE so can be upgraded in the future.

It's also fitted to the UPVC frame, without issue and iirc uses the same screw holes the original bell did.

I have no original bell, so no holes.

It isn’t because WiFi is bad, it’s just power I’m bothered about.
If you have POE available then go for it. No reason you cannot drill through the frame, just be sure you are making the hole the right size for the cable and don't go too large!.

Personally I would look to pass the cable along the edge of the frame so as not to potentially reduce the rigidity of the frame/structure.

I already know this as I have had one for a year. Bell wire is easier to route than a poe cable. I also have a hub that provides it's own WiFi connection to any reolink compatible camera. It doesn't need the Internet to record as the hub has it's own two sd slots.

Ok...

I was giving my experience nothing more.
