install ubuntu onto sd card

Seen this one for USB pen drives but the principles should be exactly the same I'd have thought...

eee is great for what it is a nice ultra portable 2nd pc, perfect for web access on the move hell it even fits in my coat pocket! the default OS is pretty good for just browsing web/mail but i just fancy sticking compiz/fusion on it for some wow factor Most people I have shown it are blown away that its a proper pc.
I get 3.5-4hrs uptime with wifi and 3/4 brightness whilst browsing so pretty good, and everything works out of the box. Keyboard is ok once you get used to it pretty useable but not for 1000 word essays or what not!
