Ok my friend has given me his laptop to try and install xp on it from the disks supplied with the computer. Problem is the internal CD drive is not working. So some how I need to get an external CD drive to work. The bios does not support boot from USB so I am a bit stuck. I have tried to find a bootable floopy that will give me usb cd support but so far no luck. Even if I did get this to work I am not sure how I would boot the re-install CD. Any ideas.
