Installation/Activiation question

My main OS HDD became faulty a few days ago and i've just started the RMA process. In the meantime, I had re-installed Windows 7 x64 on my second HDD and activated it using the same code. It is an upgrade edition.

Once the RMA comes through, I want to re-install windows onto that. I have two questions regarding this -

1) Is there going to be any issue regarding activation on a hopefully new HDD when it's still activated on this HDD? (both hard disks will remain in this computer alone and aren't going anywhere).

2) Is it possible to hide the install on the current hard disk without deleting it so that the computer doesn't pick up a valid windows install being present at all? Once the new hard disk is installed, I want windows on that alone. But in case something does happen to it, I would rather keep an install present here which I can just 'unhide' and boot up using it instead of installing it all over again. I would also prefer to just move all windows related folders into one single folder. Hopefully this makes sense. If this isn't possible, is there any sort of 'proper' way to un install windows? Or do I just delete all the files once i've booted up using windows on the replacement hard disk?

Not too sure on the activation side, MS licensing is not my department. From my brief experience with it i would say you will run into problems. Phone microsoft if you do.

As for installing onto another hd, you won't have problems just make sure you boot off the correct drive. What you might find will happen is a windows boot menu with both installations available to choose from. Which can be accessed from propeties on my computer and going to advanced tab and then start up and recovery.

Not worried about the dual boot. I want to know if once booted, I can hide the install on this HDD so in effect windows isn't installed and is tucked away into one folder (maybe even a zip file) on the drive but upon expanding the folder/zip file the drive is able to boot up windows again.

Just as an insurance policy that prevents me from having to reinstall windows on here if something happens to the primary HDD.

Yea, but I don't want the messiness of 5 different windows related folders on the root directory of the drive I use for media storage and games. So I would much rather just have all those files in one single folder/zip file so it just looks neater.
