Installation advice

Hi,

I am installing this cpu with this hsf into a new board...

Im after a second opinion as to whether I need to clean the CPU and the HSF or is their enough thermal paste on both components for me to go straight ahead with a new installation?

i would be tempted to clean it off and then put a fresh dod of thermal paste on the cpu and then apply the heatsink.

Without doing that you might end up with an uneven seating and thus the heat disapation of the cooler would be pointless.

Clean it tbh

Takes 10 minutes. Better that than dismantling it later when you find you have crap temps

as you can see the cpu has blotches on it....i was told I could just use to tissue and scrape it will my finger obvisiously covered in the tissue to remove the blotches..

and for the hsf to dab the tissue in warm water and then clean it...

please confirm if thats ok?

use alcohol, or perfum or
