Installation of cable

Hi,

Talktalk router is downstairs and need to draw ethernet cable upstairs. Have someone coming in to don't for me as it involves drilling thro ceiling. Knowing myself I'd probably end up going thru important cables and piping lol.

My question is, do I get 5e or 6? I don't know when my area will get proper cable rather than ADSL. I can't belive its 2016 and England has yet to catch up with rest of world in regards to Internet connectivity.

So e5 or 6 price difference isn't that much anyway. Just though I'd ask

For what you're describing the type of cable won't matter. Cat5e is usually a bit thinner, but there isn't much in it.

5e will be fine for what I imagine is a relatively short run.
