i installed a program on my pc. i'm not going to say what. i wasn't for anything dodgy as such, just personal, however it didn't come from a site i can confirm was legit. i think it came from something like rapidhost etc.
after installing i got a screen come up saying installing chromium. i load up my chrome from the same icon i always click no my taskbar and chrome loads up, however now completely reset back to default with installed extensions all gone and passwords, however my bookmarks are still about.
i did a malware bytes scan which found a few things. didn't solve any issues. i today installed chrome again without un-installing, and now everything has come back. i loaded chrome up with the same icon on the taskbar, it started fine and installed all my extensions i had from before.
i'm glad it's all back but just concerned when i enter my password into sites like internet banking that i'm using a version of chrome that has spyware hidden within it.
any chance of this happening? what would you recommend i do?
