Installed Memory 8.00GB (3.47GB Usable)

Hey all,

Just installed a new motherboard, (Asus P7H55-M/USB3) and in "System info" its showing..

Installed Memory 8.00GB (3.47GB Usable)

Now im thinking it has to be a setting in the Bios,But ive gone through the bios and looked at what each setting does with its explination but non of them seem to point to memory other than Voltage,Speed etc.

Im using Windows 7 X64 bit...rest of specs i sig.

My memory config is 4x 2gb sticks...all matching spec.

Any help appreciated. :cool:

I've got 8GB installed which shows in System Info but it said 4.44GB available, so I then fired up VMWare and rechecked and it now says 3.73GB available so I wouldn't worry about it, Windows will use it if it's available and then gives back if you need it.

See if there's a memory remapping option in BIOS? Enable it and see if it makes a difference.

+1 sounds like the possible culprit.

Ah success!

Reset my Bios,This time removing the Cmos battery for a couple of mins insteaad of resetting it within the bios to default...then had another good look through all the bios settings,and found memory remapping....enabled it and now it shows full 8GB of ram!
