Hello and thanks for looking,
like the title says installed an new cpu/mobo for my daughters upgraded pc, and was wondering what was the normal temps with stock heat sink and non stock heat sink temps that people are getting from it.

iix4 955be c3 isnt overclocked and is at stock voltages etc, but i have fitted an artic freezer pro 2 rev2 heatsink to it, also what's the best setttings to use on prime95 to push the temps.

also what is the latest or best version of prime95 to use.

thanks for looking.

Amd's max is about 60. I wouldn't expect that cooler to do much better I tried it over the stock cooler and not much difference, I think I was looking at about 55 degrees with both the stock cooler and the freezer pro. So while I waited to pick up a cooler I undervolted mine because the default voltage setting was way to high on my cpu (1.425).

Some goodies arrived yesterday from OcUK for my Daughters PC (AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 955 Black Edition "125W Edition", Gigabyte GA-880GM-USB3, and HIS ATI Radeon HD 6870 1024MB). I am well happy with this kit ..

:D

I stuck a Hyper 212+ cooler on it (carried over from the c2d 5200) and at stock the voltage is 1.4 with temps to 56c ... did the auto overclock thingy and it settled on 1.48v for 4GHz @ 63c which I used yesterday evening without issue .. today however, I undervolted a bit and that's the way it'll run for my daughter unless I decide to lower the volts on everything some more .. here are my current settings:
