installed new cpu and now pc won't boot into xp

hi,

i am using a ASUS A8V Deluxe and was using a amd 3500+ but i have changed that today for a AMD 4400+ X2 and when i rebooted the pc it worked fine for the first boot and then when it had loaded it said i needed to reboot for my new hardware to take effect but now i can't boot xp even in safe mode, is there something i am doing wrong ?

i can get into the bios no problem but when it starts to load windows i get a screen asking me to start windows as normal or safe mode and so on none of which will boot into xp.

the CPU is showing in the bios its just that windows won't load any more the pc reboots after about 2 seconds into loading windows.

Do you need to update the BIOS, so it will accept the new Prozzers?

as i understood it from the ASUS web site i already have the bios needed to run the cpu

What happens when you put your old prozzer back in?

i guess i will find out
