Hi

I am getting this error message, which continues with:
'errno 8"@/SourceCache/xnu/xnu-1699.22.73/bsd/kern/kern_exec.c:3558
Debugger called <panic>
Backtrace (CPU 0), Frame : Return Address
0xfffffff807f803e00 : 0xffffff8000220702
'
and similar code for 6 more lines
'
BSD process name corresponding to current thread: init
Mac OS version:
not yet seen

Then I get a box in the middle of the screen saying 'You need to restart your computer. Hold down the Power button until it turns off, then press the Power button again.

My HDD was on its way out so I installed a new 3TB drive, booted the origional Lion CD to to get to Drive Utility. I then created a 2TB partition on it using the Drive Utility and then restored from Backup.

I searched the error and found a post which said to erase the drive and restore from backup again, which I have donwe but I am still getting this error.

Each time I restore from Time machine backup t is taking 4 hours and the same screen is showing which is causing screen burn on my display.

Any ideas what the problem may be?

The error screen you're seeing is called a kernel panic its the OS X equivalent of a BSOD.

When you partition the drive make sure it is Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and set to a GUID Partition (In Disk Utility under the partition tab > Options... > GUID).

If you have done that and it still KP's do a fresh install, then use migration wizard to transfer your applications and settings from the original hard drive.
