I have just installed the following parts, upgrades from the specs in my sig:

I have installed it all, checked all the connections etc several times, but the PC shows absolutely no sign of life. Any ideas? Like i say everything is definately inserted correctly, so i am now starting to think it may be a faulty mobo. There is no light on the mobo, nothing to indicate it is alive. I click to turn the pc on, and absolutely nothing happens :(

turned on at the wall socket, or is there a switch on the back of the psu?

do you have the 8pin ATX power lead connected, as well as the 24pin.

added a little edit above.

double check the case power button connection on to the motherboard header.

I haven't tried one stick of ram, but i will now. Also, yeah the power button connection is in.

Tried one stick of RAM, still absolutely nothing.

I take it that you are using the same psu in your sig which was working perfectly in your previous rig. Reset the CMOS. You mentioned there was no light on the mobo. In my experience even if mobo is borked the led light still turns on.

Are the fans spinning or not? I would also suggest connecting one of the fan directly to psu to see if it spins or not. That way we can be sure that psu is fine.

No, absolutely nothing turns on...I get nothing. No power on anything

Ok i looked in the mobo manual to find where to clear cmos, and i found it...But one problem, it's just 2 pins sticking up with nothing on them?

It must have instructions on how to clear jumper settings like placing a jumper cap temporarily on the pins or using a screw driver to touch the pins for few seconds. Idk but you could probably use a jumper cap from your old ide hdd.

Lol Chris I don't meant to be funny but you seem to be running in bad lucks. If I remember correctly you had an earlier problem with your 5850:D.

Since you mentioned there is no led light on the mobo it seems there is a short somewhere which is preventing the power from the psu going to mobo even if the system is shutdown. Did you seat the cpu properly ? I would suggest disconnecting all the drives from the mobo and pressing the power button.
