Hey guys,
Well this is very frustrating, i just bought the FSP sparkle bluestorm 2 500 watt supply off overclockers to replace my antec 450watt supply which was makin a high pitched noise to signal it was on its last legs. I changed the psu over this evening and booted up, all looked fine at first with my raid 0 setup (2x 200gb samsung spinpoint drives) being detected as well as my ibm secondary drive. However, after detecting the raid setup, it would fail to boot asking to insert system disk... So i rebooted to try again and now it is saying that the raid setup is failing with only 1 of the spinpoint drives being detected.
Does it look like this new psu has somehow managed to kill one of my hdds or is there another way of rectifying the problem :/
I have tried connecting the hdds up to different sata power connections on the psu, I have also held the hdds and can feel them both spinning up, so they must be getting power..
I really hope that trying to fix my original psu problems hasn't casued an even bigger one!
Cheers for the help..

you said you have tried changing the power supply connectors, but have you tried changing the data cables as well?

also can you hear/feel the hard drives actually spinning?

I haven't tried changed the data cables but then I haven't unplugged them at all since they originally worked.. Could changing psu cause the data cables to arse up?

The hdds feel like they are spinning, i held them both in my hands and there is slight vibration to indicate spinning and a slight warmth after a while of being on. Both feel the same when i hold them, yet only one is being detected...

Thanks for the reply..
