installed router now internet problems

Ive been having net problems since installing new router, the internet will be working fine, then will cut off 5-6 times in the space of 10-15 mins and then will remain on for a while and do the same again, ive looked in the router logs and this is whats it saying System initializing...

does anyone have any idea how i can fix this ?
 
ive tryed the above link, for answer when it started to happen, everything i changed didnt seem to change/ or make much difference to what is happening
 
Looks like the 'dropping packet' log entries are simply the router's firewall doing it's job and are probably nothing to do with the disconnections.

I presume you've tried reconnecting your PC (suitably patched/firewalled) straight to the modem again to confirm it's the router that's the cause, and have switched the router off and on to restart it.

Could you explain what happens when it 'cuts off'? Is it just web browsing that stops, and what error message does it give (address not found etc.)?
 
yeah have tried without router and everythings ok, the internet cuts out all i have to do is close browser and reopen it and everything appears fine and log back onto msn xfire etc, no error message appears, nothing on the network connections comes up
 
Contact VM, this looks like a possible signal issue or your modem may possibly have been cloned :/

EDIT: Retest without the router again for a day and see if the same messages appear.
