Installed System Shock 2

Found this amongst some CDs after hunting around..

Just installed it.

Is there a latest patch i should download? i read one that has co-op or something on google, but is that right?

can anyone point me in the right direction so i can make this experience as good as it can be

Just ran it and it crashed to desktop once it past initial fmv (when it loaded game gui i imagine)

Im pretty sure there is also a high res texture pack kicking around, improves the graphics a bit.

I recently got this working on my system, sadly I can't remember how I set it up. I'll post back on here once I'm at my gaming machine and check it out. It might be a few days.

There's a winxp fix doing the rounds somewhere, but i remember have a few probs (also needed to edit my ini file). I've uploaded the fix and texture mod here:

put/edit this line in your shock.cfg to get rez above 1024x768
screen_size 1600,1200

I haven't figured out a way to get 32bit colour yet though.

Just found my backup, only ever played the game for a few hours, so will re-install it, and get playing...wish me luck, its a scary game! :rolleyes:

loved that game, tempted on buying it again, but its like rocking horse **** only game I know that old thats still £20 on ebay

Expensive stuff! :eek:

I got a copy off ebay... It's just the disc, and it's from a compilation of loads of other games. Still cost me a fiver.

Wicked game though.

To the OP... try running it in Windows 2000 compatibility mode, or I think there is an XP patch somewhere.

just found my copy and reinstalled and applyed 1.0.0.1 patch and run ok in xp.

plus put hires pack on and looks a little better,so im off to get the **** scared out of me
