installed vista sp1 on my machine running vista HP 64bit system builders version (is that oem or retail), all is fine but in the lower right hand side it says that its a evaluation copy. vista is registered and is 100% genuine

qustion is, why?

winver.exe

does it have an expiration date?

also open regedit, browse to

HKLM\software\microsoft\windows nt\current version

does the build match the one in this screenshot?

Not necessarily, the same build code doesn't make it the same code (hell, it even comes up with the eval watermark). IIRC there was a massive bug in RF2 that was fixed in the RTM.

You've waited a year for SP1 so is another two weeks really going to hurt?

help, the registry hack made 10 new updates appear, i installed all of them, one failed and its only 18kb, now when i scan for updates even though it says that one succeded it always comes back, theres no service pack 1 either
