Installers crash Windows Explorer

Hi,

Im having some problems installing various bits of software.

Whenever i try to run an installer windows explorer crashes.

Anyone got any idea why, and how to fix the problem.

It does it with loads of different things, all seem to be self-contained installer .exe's though

Have you run memtest to ensure there's no tricky memory errors throwing spanners into the works?

If stuff starts crashing for no good reason the main culprits are usually memory or hard disk problems.

It only seems to be installer type programs so i though maybe something was conflicting between explorer and the installers.

They seem to work fine in safe mode, its just a hassle having to switch between the two just to install something
