Hi not sure what to do with power supply connectors to my 1660 card my previous card used the 2 6pin connectors on my 970 graphics card ,will one 6 pin connector suffice on my 1660ti ,6 pin has a separate 2 pin connector ,well it works with one 6 pin so I kind of guess I answered my own question.

If your card has an 8-pin then it is recommended to use an 8-pin, but the 1660 Ti doesn't need to use one (in terms of power consumption ratings of the 6 v 8). 6+2 connectors so that you could use either, are fairly common even on older PSUs.

thanks i do not have a 8 pin connector, only 2 spare 6+2 but as pointed the 1660ti does not require it .i guess a lot less power needed than the cards i used before which is a bonus i am no gamer and the reduced power usage is a bonus as well as better specced over my 970 which was ok for my photos but could get caught out on some software and video editing .I wonder if they will continue this range type of graphics card in the future ie 1760 or something similar ,i guess a 4050 would be like a later equivalient

It happened to be a particularly low power generation, but the next gen replacement probably won't be so modest. A 6+2 pretty much is an 8 pin, by the way, many PSUs have all their 8 pins like that, or just the one.
