Ok, im skint and my pc is hot, i have a drill. and a hot wavemaster but, what i need to know is;
If i drilled 4 holes for screws then in the space where the fan would be placed drilled loads and loads of holes kinda like the front of the wavemaster would this work as a decent way of getting air in? and how would the fan be secured would it be
4xscrew>4xholes of aluminum>screws go though holes on fan>bolts on the end.

Hey,

What i did with my case was to drill 4 screw holes, and then in the middle where the fan was, drill a load more fans. But after that, i got some plyers/pincers and kinda snipped the middle bit out from each middle hole.

p.s Is the fan going at the front of the case or the back? The back would have more of an impact i think, less warm air is better

Another 80mm fan at the front would work.

Drilling loads of holes would work, but one giant one would be better. Bottom of the hard drive cage 80mm fan at the front would greatly imporve the cooling of the case.

The aluminium is quite thick, so using pliers to break it of may be a little tricky, just use a hole saw style drill bit to cut a large hole. :)

qthis is going to sound stupid im sure, but if i used a beefy drill bit could i wriggle it around a bit to make a huge gaping hole?

No, not as far as I know. Not a DIY expert but I do not think that would work at all!

Could drill a ring of holes then use a hacksaw to cut the line between them, making your huge hole.

Or Dremel job.

Its not the most pro way of doing it, but would work.

If you want I could write you up a mini-guide. Add me to MSN if your interested in one.

Look at the Silverstone TJ03 and how the front fan is positioned. Basically you cut away some of the front HD bit and make a cut to fit in a 120mm fan. Then you get some extra holes (bottom of case) and away you go.
