Hi, im about to purchase a 4200+ x2 CPU upgrading from a 3500 Venice. Im wondering what is needed to install it. As im not familiar with this. My motherboard supports Duel Core so that wont be a problem. thanks In advance ryan

As long as it comes with a heatsink, not much. Unplug old cpu fan, remove heatsink, and then raise the lever, and take the cpu out. Put the new cpu in, shut the lock lever, attach new heatsink, and connect fan to your mobo.

As long as you have the right socket CPU for your board, its as simple as that.

Should just be a case of removing old CPU, replacing it with the new one, putting the hsf back on and booting up.

dont forget to reapply thermal paste if needed :)

Also, would i see a large difference from my 3500 to the 4200x2? Its mainly gonna be used for games and ive noticed that in games like 2142 i have all the graphics cranked up 4x AA and i dont get as high FPS as i do in BF2, AND in bf2 my average FPS is above 70 FPS.

In single thread apps they will both perform the same id of thought as they both have 2.20Ghz clock speed. Should be a bit better in windows and stuff optimised for dual core should be faster

I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong but the graphics card plus the memory would be the choice for improving FPS in games.
