Installing a new soundcard!

Hey peeps,

Recently purchased an Asus Xonar DG, before i install it, I've read its a good idea to disable/safely uninstall my onboard Realtek Audio HD driver.

Do i just do this from control panel?

or is there a program i can download to hard erase the driver?

a friend said i can do it in safe mode, but unsure if he meant via using a program, or just using uninstall programs from control panel.

Turn off your pc, press F8 on your keyboard, go into safe mode.

Uninstall the driver from there.

ok thanks inferno, just the usual uninstall via control panel? or do i need to use some sort of special program.
