Hi,
I currently have XP Pro and have picked up a copy of x64.
The whole drive is one big partition so how would I go about installing X64. I want it to be a second OS because it doesn't have the support behind it.
Is there any way of doing this?
Regards

You can install it on the same partition but it's not recommended. You could split the partition with a third party program, can't remember what any of them are called but just do a search on google for them.

I'm using XP 64 and the only thing there isn't support for is disk ghosting utilities.

x64 takes some setting up so get all your drivers ready, learnt the hard way, some usb pluggy-inny things ( word evades me i remember it begins with p) dont have drivers for windows x64

edit: periphials or however its spelt
also could have just been the comp its the one with screenshot on OSX forum under osx in vmware topic

I've been using XP 64 pretty much since it was released and never had a problem with it.

Hi,
Thankyou very much for the advice given.
I'm gathering drivers together atm.
The ones I have are:
The nForce4 AMD Motherboard drivers.
The AMD CPU drivers.
The HIS Graphics card drivers.

Will my NOD32 antivirus work?
I don't want to install lots of software, just mainly basics to play games.

Thanks.

There are two versions of NOD32, the 32 and 64bit. You should be able to get either version off the NOD website.

http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/content_type/utilities/amdcpu.exe

AMD Sempron™ Processor Driver for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 Version (exe) 1.2.2. - Allows the system to automatically adjust the CPU speed, voltage and power combination that match the instantaneous user performance need. Download this Setup Installation program (EXE) to automatically update all the files necessary for installation. This package is recommended for users whom desire a graphical user interface for installation. This .EXE driver is a user friendly localized software installation of the driver designed for end-users. This driver supports AMD Sempron processor on Windows 32 bit OS.

There :D

Got it up and running and to be honest, I haven't noticed a slight difference.
Ill try a benchmark later but SuperPi gives the same result...

And also, is there anyway I can run my games like COD2 from my 1st partition so I don't have to reinstall and make a new profile?
Thanks
