Hey guys I'm new to pcs and I've just got a Samsung evo 250gb ssd and I'm wanting to install it into my pc I've not done this before can anyone please give me a detailed step by step installation guide. I'm wanting to have the ssd I bought for my operating system (windows10) and for a few of the main games and applications I use and my old hdd I'm gonna use to store things on that are not used as much or less important to me. I have a windows 10 USB key I bought when I had my pc built will I still be able to use this when installing windows 10 onto my new ssd.
Thanks in advance

Do you mean physically putting the SSD into the PC? Opening the side etc? You tube should cover everything you need, get googling bro!

Power off

Remove old drive

Plug in SSD - SATA power connection and SATA data cables

Restart - go into BIOS and change boot order to USB Priority

Power off

Insert USB stick

Power on and follow installation instructions from Windows until complete

Power off

Reinstall old drive aswell

Power on - go into BIOS and set boot priority to the SSD drive.

Save and restart

Download Macrium Reflect

https://www.macrium.com/reflectfree

Plug the new SSD in either directly in the machine or in a USB enclosure / dock

Clone the old disk to the new disk using Reflect

Swap the drives over if using a caddy and/or go to bios and set the SSD as the boot drive.

Format the old drive if it's still in the machine, add you don't want too accidentally boot into the wrong one.

That it's really. All your applications will still be installed and work, Windows will still be licensed.
