Hi all

Looking to somehow install a TV in one of the bedrooms of our new house. Unfortunately there are no coax / aerial points and no power cable in the corner where I've provisionally put the TV:

There are various reasons why this is the best / only place that the TV can go.

There's no access to the other side of the wall as it's a dormer type roof on that side of the house. I'm thinking bring up the carpet and run a spur off the socket you can see on the left underneath the mirror? Then I guess I'd chase the power cable into the wall behind the chest and install a socket plate?

TV cable wise, I can probably run it in from the outside somehow as access from the attic will again be difficult due to the fact that this is an extended section and this part of the attic is not accessible (2x4s are running horizonantally across the roof space). Even if I could get to the attic space above the bedroom, running coax down the sloped roof between roof and plasterboard would be all but impossible.

Basically, I'm flummoxed and I need your help please!

The wall behind drawers is solid, thought it would be plasterboard.

Can't you bring aerial cable up from room below, where is aerial cable for living room located.

What's behind door

No problem with running spur in 2.5mm T&E & using a 2g switch socket as you suggested..

Looking at sloping ceiling & following a imaginary line of roof to eaves there will be a bit of space behind wall.

I reckon you could cut a small exploratory hole low down just above skirting, you will see the eaves , should be able to feed a aerial cable to the outside with some jiggery pokery through the soffit or something similar, without actually seeing it, it's difficult to see the problem 1st hand.

Also as it's board, you can use a 2g dry lining box for the switch socket.

As you can see from above picture, there space behind the strut.

EDIT: You probably find flooring doesn't extend too far behind that wall, & the eaves run front to back, you should be able to pull a cable from that twin socket.
