I'm going to install this to my 4870 as soon as I receive my cpu cooler this week and will use the TX-2 bundled with the cpu cooler instead of the white paste from the akasa. That's gotta be better I imagine? There's a 3 pin motherboard plug with the akasa and a 4 pin molex adaptor. Should I use the molex to power supply to power the akasa fan, or should I plug it into the only remaining motherboard header I have which is the pwr fan header?

Because I was wondering if someone was going to say not to use the pwr fan header, as I thought it was only meant for the psu. Cheers.

Make sure any auto fan control is disabled on the mb fan header you are using.

if you want to be able to control the speed of the fan (for noise purposes) then maybe get a fan controller and attach it to that?
Can I ask, does your cooler have cracks on the plastic screw thread on the plastic housing (on the rear round bit) - one also where the shroud meets the metal base.
