I want to check if my memory is ok and looking at these forums memtest is the prog to use. I have downloaded and unzipped a .ISO from their website and have got a file called memtest86-3.2.ISO (size 39kb). I've got NERO OEM. How do I make the bootable CD. Is it the "Disc image or saved project" burn option? Having made the cd do I have to turn the pc off and reboot from cd to run the tests?

Thanx guys. Did as you said and test ran fine with no errors reported.

What does the following mean and do I need to enable ECC or PAT which memtest shows as being disabled?

RAM: 210Mhz (DDR420) / CAS: 2.5-3-3-8.

ECC Registered RAM is mainly used for servers and has extra error protection.

As for PAT, i'm not sure.

in the future you might like to try the ultimate boot disk. it has lots of little useful programs on and it saves you burning a new cd every time you need a different program.
