Installing Beta Nvidia drivers on Vista 64 SP1

Am thinking of moving to Vista 64 so I can make full use of my 4gig ram, but I hear since Vista 64 SP1 came along it's now no longer possible to use the bcdedit tool to disable driver integrity checking permanently (need to load beta drivers).

This line no longer works since SP1.

"bcdedit /set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS"

Neither does, Run CMD as administrator, followed by "Bcdedit.exe /set nointegritychecks ON"

Doing this via VistaBootPro does not work either, and neither F8 using a boot emulator.

Seeing as nvidia rarely release whql'd/signeddrivers, it means the only way to get these beta drivers to load, is to hit F8 and disable integrity checking every time I boot. Same goes for RivaTuner, CoreTemp etc... PITA. Although I have heard reports that this is no longer working either as the event log is showing these drivers as being denied.

I am incorrect about this or has anyone found an easy way to get their nvidia drivers to load Vista 64 SP1 ?

Odd I'm not getting anything thorugh Windows update to do with SP1, does it require me to install all of MS Office 2007 SP1? and updates for MS Office?

nVidia beta drivers work fine without having to press F8 and disable integrity, it just pops up a warning when you first run the driver setup telling you that it isn't signed.

RivaTuner also works fine, CoreTemp however, does not.

Thanks Skyboat....this is with Sp1 now ? I assume the warning is not that it is not signed as 64 wont let you install unsigned drivers....maybe the warning it is a beta or non-whql driver (which can still be signed) ?

Any fix for coretemp or an alternative program that works in vista64 ?

Reason people may not get anything thru windows udpate for Sp1 is cause MS have said if windows update detects and apps or drivers not compatible with sp1 (likely to not work after sp1 install :), then you won't be presented with the option of installing sp1 via windows update.

I *think* there might have been a workaround for CoreTemp, but I haven't used it in ages since I haven't been clocking my CPU much (still running stock HSF too atm). I did find a couple of threads via Google that included some .bat or .reg hacks or something, unless the author has released a compatible update since.

EDIT: Talrinys :p

Odd as none of my apps were in the list of not working, best go download it from M$ then :\.

Thanks for everyones help. Will go ahead and order Vista 64.

So all I will be using is nforce 790i drivers, nvidia graphics drivers, coretemp, rivatuner, wifi drivers (which I know are signed), and latest x-fi drivers from creative.

Anyone know if Daemon Tools Pro works in Vista 64 ?
Any issues running latest PowerDVD, VLC, Nero, AVG, CPU-Z, u-Torrent ?
That's about all I run.

Yeah there was a package with Atsiv in it which made it work until the newest version, which just works :D

Daemon Tools works, not sure why Pro wouldn't :)
VLC, Nero, CPU-Z(with a few pieces of missing info) and U-torrent all work fine on my system :)

Excellent!...thanks mate. :)

edit - Is the 4gig memory fix included in Vista 64 SP1...or does this issue with installing Vista 64 only occur with 4 sticks. I'll have 2x2gig.
