Hey guys,

Trying to install Battlefield 2 (complete collection) on my E drive, as C drive is just for Windows 7 OS living on SSD.

As recommended elsewhere Ive gone into regedit and changed the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>Microsoft>Windows>CurrentVersion>ProgramFilesDir (and ProgramFilesDir (x86) value from C:\Program Files to E:\Program files, rebooted and tried to reinstall.

The installation still wants to go onto C drive. Even when choosing Custom installation over Typical you have no option to browse/specify a folder of choice.

Any ideas welcomed! :)

I thought the installer allowed you to specify your own folder? It always did when i installed it, can't imagine how win7 would change the installer?

As you'll know most other games allow you to change the installation directory when you choose custom install, not this one (or at least not the collection edition) :(

ah yer, just googled collectors edition and it seems they forgot to put that option into the installer. Sorry, i can't really help any further.

Can't you just install on your C drive (if it has the space) then copy to the E drive, run it from that drive and uninstal the C drive copy ?

I think that's how I used to do it on my old system.

right click the bf2 icon then goto properties, then shortcut, if its pointing to your c drive you might wanna double check that its installed in the correct place, when you install bf2 and set it up in a different drive it should automatically set a shortcut icon on your desktop with the target of where the game is installed, hope this helps mate
