I've been playing around with Fedora 6 via Parallels on my Macbook and I've been getting on with it really well (which is good news as I'll be using it at work). I've got an old G4 Mac Mini which isn't doing much so I thought I would install Fedora 7 on it.

Has anyone got any experience of this? Am I going to run into any problems with drivers etc or will it just work? I'm quite keen to play with this gratuitios looking 3d stuff :D

I'm not bothered about preserving OS X on the Mini, my Macbook is my main computer now so don't worry about that sort of thing.

as long as there is a PPC build, then i dont forsee anything major. we run debian on some of our old minis at work

That's good to know. I'm burning the DVD as I type. Are there any issues with applications i.e. PPC/x86 binaries or are they universal? I'm not really sure how yum works, does it download and build from the source or what?

you'll have to have PPC files or compile from source, and yum (i guess) will have a bunch of PPC repos
