I am currently installing the Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3 into my Xigmatek case and there is a mismatch with cables which has me concerned. The colour coding on the cables simply does not match up with what is shown on the motherboard. E.g. the power switch cable which is coloured orange/white apparently goes into the slot on the motherboard which is all red.

Any advice on what to do? I don't want to balls it up and fry a component :(.

Wouldn't worry about the colours - match up the two pins which the manual says are for power switch with the case wire. It'll be fine.

Ignore the colours of the front panel connectors on the board, thats to just help see the different sections for the plugs to go into.

Yeah don't worry about colours. Go by what the motherboard manual says. You won't fry any components with just the front panel cables don't worry.

Thanks for the info guys, I'll consult the user manual.

The only remaining issue is that the front panel cables have no indication on them of which is negative and positive, other than a triangle on one.

The case power/reset switch dont matter, they just short the two pins momentarily.

If you don't get a power light or HDD light then just flip them over,.
