I picked up a Western Digital Drive last week, and thought I would install a game to it (when asked to select folder/directory etc). the game installed fine (flatout carnage), and plays fine, at about 45 frames 1920x1200 max EVERYTHING (Spec of system: Quad 9650 8800 GTXx2 SLI, Vista 64, 4 gig ram)

Would I get less performace this way?, i was just seeing how efficiant it was, and to cut down on Hard disk space on my main C drive.:)

It will work ok (so long as the drive keeps the same letter i think),performance is based wether you connecting the drive over esata, firewire or usb.

Usb will be slower than an internal but firewire and esata shouldnt be too noticable

Well, i've just installed BF2, but it seems that my C drive is 4 gigs for the worse., so it maybe has to install it on the main drive, not sure.
