Installing hardware on Virtual PC

Hi,

I am running Vista x64 and would like to some music to my Minidisc.

Unfortunately there is no drivers for Vista x64. Only works under x32. To get round this i am thinking of running XP x32 under Virtual PC.

Will it install the drivers and work as it would if i was running XP natively? Never used Virtual PC before.

Should be fine.

You'll have to take ownership of the device from the host machine, and then it will install as if you had physically plugged it in

i didn't think virtual pc could mount usb devices. I think virtual box does though

looks like virtual pc can finally do something that other products have been doing for years. as much as i generally like microsoft software, i can't believe how bad virtual pc is. i'd really suggest using either vmware or virtualbox.
