Hi guys.

wanting some info advice before I pull the plug and upgrade my current interior.

Ive found what I believe to be a great price for a full set of leather interior for my 1 series. 65 plate 118d sport.

It came with the black sport interior with the red detailing. It has power to the front seats as I can adjust lumbar support via the switch on the seat but that is all.

The interior I have found has heated seats, memory function etc.

Is it just a simple swap of the seats, changing the stock cover on the head unit to give me the heated seats buttons etc or is there more to it than that? Coding etc? Or am I wasting my time as my car just wont have the functionality to do what I want?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Not sure about what additional hardware is needed (wiring harness, modules, relays, fuses etc.), but you'll need to code in the new heated seats, if old weren't heated.

You'll be better off asking all those questions on a BMW dedicated forum, you won't have much luck here. Search term you're looking for is 'Retrofit'.

You're sure all the pyrotechnics for seat belt tensioner are fine in the other interior - not generating any warnings.
(I was probably over cautious removing seats from a 3 series but the stories of could break your arm ... and wallet, if it fired)

I'd question whether the leather will really feel much better unless its nappa/merino , or do bolsters have a lot of wear.
