Installing new bios

I'm gonna install new bios for my mobo. Its a f3d file though. I do not have a floppy drive in my computer is there anyway i can install it from a cd-rom?

You would need to make a bootable CD Rom maybe like this and set the boot order to boot from CD.

If you list what motherboard you have, many can be flashed with utilities like winflash or similar.
Asus make one as well, but make sure it's compatible BEFORE you proceed.

I have a Gigabyte DS4 board and an E6600 cpu. I heard the bios that comes with the board is not very good for overclocking and has some problems. So updating to http://www.jzelectronic.de/jz2/index.php third one down on that page.

It was recommended in this post http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17612784
as i don't think gigabyte have released a new official one yet.

Go here and click on the BIOS live update utility.

I reckon that would do it.

Update BIOS NOT through Internet :
a. Do not click "Internet Update" icon
b. Click "Update New BIOS"
c. Please select "All Files" in dialog box while opening the old file.
d. Please search for BIOS unzip file, downloading from internet or any other methods (such as: 6OXM7E.F1).
e. Complete update process following the instruction

I figured the above out for myself and its all updated now. Thanks
