Installing New Nvidia Drivers Causes Reboot.

As the title of this thread suggests, every time I attempt to install the latest nvidia drivers for my GTX980's, the computer reboots during the installation.

These cards have been working fine since I bought them and I've installed new drivers since then. Today however, I've been unable to update them. On the first attempt, the installer just changed my resolution to 640x480 and disappeared, and then a few moments later my resolution returned to normal. I rebooted and tried again and the installer got to "Installing Display Drivers" and everything went blank and the PC rebooted.

Any help would be great!

My spec is in my sig.

Thanks!

EDIT: It's worth noting that I benchmark the hell outta this rig regularly. All of my benchmarks run flawlessly, i.e. Heaven, 3D Mark, Fur Mark etc...

I had a similar problem before with previous driver revision.

What I did was remove the driver separately first (cleanly). Only unpack the installer but don't install. Reboot and then run setup from where you unpacked it.

If you try and do it in one go I had this problem although the latest seem fine for me. Also did you get the driver from the main Nvidia site?

Sometimes disabling SLI/turning one card off and installing on a single card can get round a few problems when installing drivers. Then turn on the others and enable SLI.
