Installing new os on dell laptop?

Hi I just got a new Dell inspiron 1721 which came with Vista Home Premium 32bit. Basically I have Vista Home Premium OEM 64 on my desktop and wondered can I install this and use the code for the laptops os? My main concern is the drivers etc that came preinstalled will they be compatible with the 64bit os?

Anyway thanks for any help hope this is in right place with the OS questions

you are not suppose to transfer an oem licence from pc to pc

thanks for the reply. is it not possible just to use the license key for the 32bit version?

ok after snooping i see you can use the license key but may main concern is the dell software/drivers working on the 64bit version?

Use software to identify what hardware is inside your laptop, mainly the chipset, sound "card", graphics as well as any extras (internal webcam, card readers etc). If you get the drivers direct from the hardware manufacturer (ie. Intel instead of Dell) you will usually find 64-Bit drivers

. Before you upgrade to 64Bit make sure you make a complete image of your hard drive just in case anything goes pear shaped
