Installing on Amiga1200

Just been looking through the retro consoles thread and thought of this. We have a fully working Amiga C1200, but the floppy discs seem to be deteriorating . It says on some games about installing them, but i've never got it to work. I think we have a 144MB HDD (would be enough to hold the favourites), and it runs standard workbench OS I think. Anyone know how to install them, commands etc

Not all games had HD installers. You can usually see the installer from within workbench. I think there are huge libraries of HD installers online for a lot of games without installers by default, but of course you have got the problem of getting them off the web to your Amiga. I've a few games installed on my HD, Frontier, Kid Chaos, Turbo Trax and a few others that i cant remember. Im pretty sure i just launched the installers and chose a location.

I remember trying to get octagon on there or something from this PC, it was impossible to me

Pinball illusions has an installation guide;

"boot your computer as normal and insert disk 1. Double-click the disk icon when it appears and then double-click on the INSTALL icon"

Thing is, the disk icon nor install icon ever appear

Have you tried all of the disks ? Sometimes they stick the installer on the final disk just to confuse you

Does the installer show up in workbench ?
