Hi

Done a search but cant find anything on this. I switched from my a64 3500 earlier to my new opty 170 but the cpu isnt reconised. It comes up as an AMD hammer family unreconised cpu, both in the bios and in cpu-Z.

I take it I need to download a dual core driver or something.

Can anyone talk me though what I need to do, and provide any links I might need.

Much appreciated.

Is that the latest cpuz. So long as its running at speed and both cores are present no need to worry. My 165 went unrecognised until a bios update sorted it. I didnt have to install any drivers for dual core at all.

Ok, thanks, here is where I am now, this is the latest version of CPU-Z. It does now have the opteron logo but still doesnt reconise it. The clocks all appear to be ok though.

But shouldnt the second core show up in that drop down box at the bottom?? How do I fix this?

Ok, Just updated my bios and installed the dual core driver from the amd website.

Now this is what I have:

The wrong logo is displayed (take it thats just a cpu-z issue) The cpu is correctly named and both cores are visable.....Is it mission accomplished then?
