Right chaps, this one is annoying me now.

Im trying to install a copy of Snow Leopard onto my other mac as have put in a nice new shiny heard drive.

I have formatted the external and partitioned it under the GUID setting and then hit restore and selected my disk image of SN. Learning all this by following guides.

When i hit power i get the usually grey screen and then hold down alt and can select Mac OS X install DVD ( which is what the external gets called with the external drive image )

I hit enter and after having the apple logo for a min the screen goes black.

Now i think everything is still running ok and if i hit enter on my keyboard then the had drive light flashes. but obviously i have no idea whats going on as i can't see squat.

Does any one have any experience in this for failing that know of a place which shows me screen by screen the install boxes :/

My mac is a macbook pro the original 15" model. Any ideas ? Would be very very much appreciated
