Installing pdf printers?

I need to install a pdf printer without any third party software. Im sure I found a way of doing it ages ago, but can't for the life of me remember how. Can anyone help me out? I basically just need a way of converting word documents in pdf files without any third party software.

Word 2007 has a downloadable plug in to save as PDF.

Other than that I'm sure its all 3rd party

i use pdfcreator which uses the printer driver to convert- if thats what you are looking for?

its only a small file so doesnt take up any space at all. sorry cant be more help.

Neither of those thanks. I can't have a third party program as I need to be an admin to install anything at all, and I really can't be bothered phoning IT services for it. Im sure I managed to do it by installing one of the default IBM printers and playing with the driver settings. Will have to have a play. Thanks anyway.

Cute pdf, it installs as a dummy printer, then you just click, file print, select pdf printer, then it asks you where you want to save it.

How about opening the files (presumably MS office stuff) with GoogleDocs then exporting as PDF?

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. Ive managed to solve the problem by convincing IT to give me admin rights as well as a brand new PC.

Now I just need a Mac with Photoshop and ProTools on my desk and all will be well.
