ok so i have a work laptop and ie 6 is installed as the defualt browser. i have managed to install firefox but cannot install any flash plugins as i am not an administrator. i have found a way of installing the required flash files as a non administartor but this involves copying files to the mozilla folder on the c drive. as its a work laptop i they have locked this down and i cant get to it.

apparently i can get to the folder by using the run command but again this has been disabled.

anyone know a way of getting the files moved over in this situation?

I suppose you could boot into safe mode and see if they have left the default admin account enabled (assuming you're on XP Pro). That would make life a lot easier.

Failing that, if its locked down its locked down. Unless you want to go down the destructive route of actually cracking it you might be best off just asking your IT dept. if they can do anything.

If you can write to the firefox folder you could get around it by installing addons on another pc then getting firefox backup from http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/ backing up the other pc version of firefox and restoring it to the works one. Can you run a AT command from a batch file? if you can you can get supper admin rights with full system control
