Installing Programs

Are all the files needed or when installing programs placed in program files and no where else like any .dll in the windows folder.

So do programs when installing only place files in program files and users?
if not where else do they place files?

Which program in particular? An installer can put files anywhere as long as it has the permissions. Watch the installer with procmon if you want to know exactly what it does.
