Installing Silver Arrow Query

Morning guys,

Can someone give me some advice on how to install the Silver Arrow please?
I was going to get the IC Diamond paste but I'm not going to have time to wait for it to arrive so I'll be using the thermal paste that comes with the cooler.
How much and what method should I use for applying this?
Any help is much appreciated.

rice sized blob in the middle

the instructions state you put a thin layer on both cpu and heatsink, so i did this. they wouldnt give you instructions for this without a reason.

i ust but a 5mm pea sized blob in middle an then put it on, been fine
