Hey guys I have Virgin media and today it had to come the engineer, to install my new company SKY broadband LLU and he didn't...

The think is that I thought that I didn't have socket but today cheeking it properly I found that where I have now the socket for virgin which is a box completely different there is a mark of the old box, then I've check outside the window and I found a cable lost and it was like this...

I guess they took it off when they installed the virgin media BOX.

But like in Spain we are using this kind of cable...

So I thought that they where different but I guess that not they are the same, but the socket will be different I mean...

If I buy a socket like this... How can I put the antena cable there?

I got already activated internet as they said, but not socket...
I think that if I buy an special socket somewhere in London
I can install it for myself...

How does it looks the SKY cable to your socket?
Antena or is different...

I hope you understand what I mean, because if you know what I mean as it works with antena, I'll buy tomorrow a socket and I'll install it for myself...

NO!

The cable in the top picture will have nothing to-do with a Sky LLU connection.

It’s either left over from Virgin cable, or it’s something related to a satellite dish/aerial.

Sky's LLU connection will come in over BT's copper. It’s not something you can connect yourself, in fact it would probably be illegal for you to even try.

If you haven’t already got a BT line and the associated master socket (bottom picture) you’re going to have to wait until an engineer turns up.

SO they told me on 10 of November stay at home because we are coming, but they didn't so I called them and they said hmm... sorry but we didn't tell you that someone had to come, I told them I got the letter HERE in y my hands...

And then they told me ok anyway you can connected for yourself to the socket it's very easy, and I said I don't have SOCKET... The engineer had to come to install it, and then she said, in 24 hours someone will call you, to let you know what is gonna happens...

But this is like a joke isn't it?

They not gonna call me I'm quite sure, will they send me an engineer in two days? NO I Don't think so, but they have send me the bill from today...

EDIT:::

LET me ASK you something... If I don't have that cable??? My neighbour has SKY LLU he told me, but I can't find the socket... Is very strange...

Home’s in the UK normally have a BT phone line and socket.

It’s possible that someone has removed the BT socket without permission because it wasn’t in use.

Unless you informed them about it Sky would expect the socket still to be there and available. You'd then just need to plug their modem/router into the socket once it was activated.

If it isn’t there you’ll need an engineer visit to reinstate it.

...and if there isn't a proper socket then BT will charge you to fit a new one, regardless of who has damaged the installation.

There must be a physical line coming to your house somehow, otherwise Sky would have not proceeded with the order. If it's overhead line then you can trace where it comes into the house and possibly find the wire or junction box and fit a socket yourself. If it's underground then you may have a small plastic box just outside your house with BT, T or something written on it and can trace from there.

I've checked it properly still I can't find it, but yes in the place in which you see the VIRGIN socket, there is the shape of other box which it should be there...

Thanks guys for your help.

Sky can order a new line install which you will then have a BT engineer pay a visit to do the install.

I would say there has been a mix up when they took the order.

Your not allowed to fit sockets yourself it's illegal.

Contact sky and they can book an openreach engineer to come and install a socket but make sure you check you don't have one. If you so and the engineer attends you'll be charged.
