Installing software on a network

Hi, I'm trying to install software on a network to make it available for all PC's on the network. To cut a long story short I dont really know what im doing, can anyone guide me through it?

I'm logged on as the administrator and i've tried to share the folder after installing the software to the particular machine but its not appearing on the other machines.
 
how meny clients you trying to install to?
are you on a domain?
do you have a server setup?
 
err theres about 15 PC's here. Domain? Dunno :confused: Yes i'm loged in as administrator at the moment.

Youve been given the job to administer it and dont know whether your running a domain or workgroup environment, oh dear.
 
yes i'm trying to help out and i'm not exactly an expert on anything to do with networks so i'm asking for help, sorry

Dam right! Those guys are just jealous cause he’s able to remember a password when they have to save it into their cache! Hehe Joking guys ;)

But yea it’s been a while since I have configured a windows server but it will need to have its application server configured in order for the software to be installed on all machines etc. It’s not an easy task for someone who doesn’t know what he is doing. I’d try to punt it at tech support if you can!

It will depend on what server it is, wind 2000/2003 etc, but if you go to control panel and administrative tools there should be something like – configure your server/manager your server in that there should be an option of application server and under that there should be a selection for add/remove programs. There is more configurations after that which I can not remember.
