Installing stuff on vista

Running 32 bit ultimate here.

Is it normal that stuff takes ages longer to install on vista than XP?

Fort instance, on XP it takes less than a minute to install X-Fi drivers, yet vista takes 5 mins at least

Recent demos ive installed ( Bioshock, Lost Planet, WIC ) all take much longer to install on Vista than XP. Am i missing something?

that's definitely not normal. i'm running 32bit vista (on old hardware) and just about everything runs/installs just fine. one program took noticeably longer and that was paint.net - i don't know why that is.....

Yeh same thing happens with me about the X-Fi drivers ... took ages on Vista.
