Hi all

got most my components today (should have been all grrr)

couple of questions, do i install the cpu pul down the retaining arm etc then put the tower on top of it all? (think this is right but want to double check)

more importantly how do i use the fan controller, i can see where i plug the fan into on my mobo but i dont understand how i get the fan controller to work with the fan? (its not covered in the manual)

Mobo is Gigabyte GA_965P_DS3

im sure these r extremely stupid questions but i just cant seem to figure it out

thanks for any advise

yes install cpu first then close the arm

The fan controller clips into a socket thats on the towers wiring...dont see whats so hard about that :p

hmm i couldnt see any sockets must investigate if there is a socket that i've missed im gonna feel like a right idiot!

cheers for the response

**edit

ok i really am thick, the above mentioned cable was there but it was pushed up inside the actual fan (so good job i didnt hook it up as it would have got tangled)

ok so idiots guide, open socket arm, insert cpu , close locking arm, add artic silver, put tuniq on top, lining up the H plate, tighten up the screws and done?

have i missed anything? never done it before and want to be certain i do it right

thanks

That sounds about right.

If the base plate of Tuniq can be stuck to the motherboard, DON'T bother sticking it. Some base plates can be near impossible to remove when stuck on.

A handy tip from me is get yourself some tape masking tape preferable
and tape the back plate into place don't peel off the sticker on backplate
ok so screw in the screws into the backplate so everything is lined up now tape over the backplate making it secure now remove the screws and proceed
to install the tuniq as per guide in manual once installed remove the tape or leave on which is optional. It really does make the whole thing stress free.
Fan is simple the yellow wire goes to the usual cpu fan connection on mboard
the black lead plugs into the fan controller lead simple.
There is a black and yellow lead protruding from the fan.
