So, I managed to find the BIOS update for my laptop, unsure If I need it or not. But I partitioned my drive and have enough space to install it and Have it on my USB, used Rufus. I followed steps, but on installation I didnt' get the option to install alongside Windows 10, other the "other" option.

I need my BIOS mode to be UEFI, but at the moment its "Legacy" and Ive looked it up and can't seem to change it on my laptop, the bios is from 2012 version. And there's a 2014 I can update to, do I need it?

Please help and thanks

Not always. Some times it might recognize it as a recovery partition.
Last time I did it, under some thing else, I manually selected the empty space, created an ext4 partition and selected / for the mountpoint, then installed as usual.
grub "should" still ask you which partition you want to boot from at cold boot.

Managed to sort it and works :)
